Primary and secondary audience

Target group analysis

I always see focus shifted to the secondary audience, like adding some soap to startrek, or the Ipods without firewire. Remove the things the enthusiastic like to obtain an audience that is not? Windows turned out being a really horrible OS, just from targeting the non-user. They was so Happy with clipy.

What are the needs of a target group? Food, housing, work, school, joy?

I would like to misinterpret the topic into the analysis done by the group. That would say things about the group. So the need is an analysable topic.
